Here is a quick Sunday night update to avoid Monday morning Quarterbacking (i.e. hindsight). The storm coming in tonight (Sunday) originally looked rather weak and too far north to deepen the snowpack for most mountains. But now there are two reasons to change the forecast:
- The weather computer models forecast the storm to be stronger and move further south.
- It’s snowing pretty hard in Utah, and this snow is heading straight for us (at a faster speed than Austin Powers’ steam roller)
Because the storm is a bit stronger, accumulating snow should persist through mid morning. Clouds and off-and-on snow will hug the mountains through the rest of Monday before ending Monday night. Enjoy it while you can, because the sun returns for the rest of the week. Here’s the new snowfall map:

The next chance of snow is a-week-from-now Sunday – and this storm could be a good one to usher in December. Stay tuned!
Nice last minute call– 3″ on the deck this morning in Aspen.
