Sterling- excellent report, thanks! Indeed the cold front took a long time getting south through the mountains and hit Berthoud Pass around 5-6pm. WP and Berthoud should ski nicely this morning as long as it’s not too firm underneath. Glad the snow came through!

Another report from yesterday, WP snowed all day, at times REALLY heavy. Cold air wasn’t there yet, (about 28 at 4pm when we left). There was almost 1″ when we got there, and almost 6″ total by the time we left. Thanks for all of the great CO forecasting, and weather education. Keep it up! OH, and thanks for the stoke over on TGR too.

JJ – looks pretty dry. Maybe a bit of snow Sunday night into Monday, but it won’t amount to much of anything…most likely just more clouds around and a few flakes. The next good storm for Colorado looks like Wednesday and Thursday. Thanks for asking!

Going down to Ouray for work this week and we were curious to know what Monday holds for the T-Ride area?? The pacific looks like storms are lined up pretty good…….any thoughts?

steveo – thanks for the update! Indeed the cold air is having a tough time getting into the mountains, but it’s finally making headway and should cool off Steamboat ASAP (sunset). The Walden valley is about 0 degrees F right now, so the cold air has made it into this more eastern valley. Snow should ski well tomorrow, with this dense snow on bottom and some light fluff tonight as the icing on top.

Hi Joel,

Steamboat ski ara recieved about 6-8″ today, with super warm temps. it was near 30 degrees and graupeling this morning at 10am at the summit. We have not seen the blast of cold air in the valley yet (3pm Weds).

Hoping to get more in VAIL/BC…..wondering if tmrw or thursday will be the good day to ski??
