Hi. I’m Joel Gratz. Why should you care?
Because I’m a meteorologist, I love snow, and I live in Colorado. I’m also an only child who likes to talk to anyone who will listen about how to find deep snow. Sound good?
The Colorado Powder Forecast is an entertaining (and dare I say educational? please don’t run away…) weather forecast for snow lovers in Colorado. It started as an informal, weekly email among friends in 2008. Now it is downright official with a website and an email distribution list. Awesome. If you want the real-deal about snow and weather conditions for Colorado, this is the place.
But maybe you like TV meteorologists waving their hands over all of the mountains and generalizing about “6-12 inches”, or you might really enjoy seeing a rather useless forecast for “30% chance of snow” during each of the next four days. If you like snow forecasts without much detail or personality, then thanks for stopping by, but you’ll likely be moving on.
However, if you want a fun, unique, and targeted weather forecast, brought to you by a meteorologist with 37 pieces of flair who actually goes out into the snow to test his own predictions, this is the place for you. Sign up for my email newsletter for free. Enjoy the 411. Tell your friends. Have a good time. And tell me what the snow is like…
Email me with any questions, ideas, or forecasting wisdom…anything to help us find the deepness.

well done Joel! and good luck to you! One question, when can we expect the Swiss Alps Powder Lovers page?

Frenchie – would love to set up a Swiss Alps Powder Lovers page…if only Swiss was closer (though compared to I-70, the flight isn’t so bad). Hope to ride with you this year!

Joel,
The website looks great. I do have one gripe- Make it snow more!
